Laser scribing offers several advantages when compared to lane definition by slot die printing, including, among others:

Traditional lane definition by slot die coating demands the preparation of specific tooling for each design and layer, requires precise alignment between printed layers and limits the achievable fill factor (active area/total area).

Laser ablation can be used to selectively remove some of the printed layers of the solar modules to perform the electrical isolation of adjacent cells and to expose the bottom electrode to be contacted by the silver for the serial interconnection.
